PDF and Document Accessibility Remediation
We test and tag PDFs and other document formats to meet ADA and Section 508 requirements.
What is PDF accessibility?
Just like websites and mobile apps, PDFs and other documents also need to be made accessible for all users including the 20% of the U.S. population with disabilities. By adding hidden data called tags, we can ensure that PDFs are readable, navigable and usable for users of assitive technologies (such as screen readers).

Our approach
We utilitize automated software and manual testing and remediation to ensure that all information is equally accessible to all users full conformance to WCAG 2.2 and PDF U/A guidelines.
This includes:
- Initial review of documents to identify any inherently inaccessible content that must be fixed at the root
- Tagging to add necessary document metadata such as heading structure and bookmarks, document and content languages, reading order, and alternative text for media
- Table and form field tagging to support keyboard and screen reader navigation
- Retesting using automated and manual reviews
